What Are Progressive Multi-Focal Lenses?

While standard magnified reading glasses have a single prescription strength for near-vision across the whole lens, progressive multi-focal lenses only have the near-vision section in the bottom third of the lens. The top third of the lens has no magnification power applied, while the middle third of the lens is set to a power between the upper and lower section, providing assistance with intermediate distance tasks at a distance of 45-90cm.

With these 3 vision zones you can seamlessly transition between focusing on objects at different distances without changing glasses, and being progressives rather than bifocals, there's no distracting line on the lens surface.

The magnification power shown is the power of the near-vision (reading) section of the lens.
